News: Corporate bond issuance to fall by 25-30% in 2004.

Institutional investors will have to divert major tranches of their funds this year as corporate bond issuance slows by between 25 per cent and 30 per cent, according to ABN Amro.
The bank's credit research and strategy team predicts that corporate bond issuance in both euro and sterling will fall.
Hans Peter Lorenzen, a credit strategist with the bank, said institutional investors would begin to divert funds elsewhere as they consider liquidity issues.
He said: "There is less supply out there and demand will have to give. However, with credit spreads already at or near historically tight levels, the credit market is not as attractive as it was six months ago.
