Close trust to invest in Brunel spin outs.

CLOSE Venture Management is to allocate AGBP4.5m of its Venture Capital trust to Brunel University's spin-out companies.

About 45 per cent of the AGBP45m trust is to be invested in lower-risk, ungeared, property-based businesses operating in the leisure sector, with particular emphasis on public houses.

The remaining cash would be invested in high-growth businesses across a variety of sectors of the UK economy, while 10 per cent is to be allocated for companies from Brunel University Enterprises.

Funds raised from the trust would be invested in spin-out companies originating in the engineering department of Brunel University and the Wolfson Centre for Materials Processing.
