Barclays Global Investors has hired former JPMorgan Asset Management managing director Karen Prooth.
Ms Prooth will be managing director and European chief operating officer for iShares, BGI's ETF brand= and GIMG, which comprises business components, including index equity and cash management.
She will report to Rory Tobin, chief executive of iShares, and will have responsibility for coordinating the operations, technology and finance functions for iShares and GIMG in Europe.
Mr Tobin said: "Ms Prooth brings a wealth of experience across a range of asset management disciplines, including derivatives, trading, risk management, project management, performance measurement and quality control."
