Merchant tips new Barclays product.

Stockbroking firm Merchant Securities has tipped a new commodities-focused structured product offering from Barclays.. Oliver Good

The firm's five-and-a-half-year Diversified Commodity Bull-Bear Note provides exposure to a basket of six commodities covering industrial metals, energy and livestock.

It also promises gains for investors whether the value of the commodities declines or rises and is weighted to provide larger profits if prices rise.

The product aims to give investors 100 per cent capital protection at maturity with participation of 170 per cent from any upside in the basket and 85 per cent positive participation in any downside of the basket.
