FundsNetwork calls on UK chancellor to put higher limit on tax-free investment.

The annual tax-free investment limit should have been raised from GBP7000 to GBP10,000, instead of the modest GBP200 increase announced, the platform argued.

FundsNetwork has called on the government to make further changes to its Isa legislation, to build on the changes set to be introduced on 6 April 2008. Had the Isa limit risen with the rate of inflation, it would now stand at more than GBP8900, the platform said

The group said it would like to see a limit of GBP10,000 introduced, or a commitment from the government to a rising scale - GBP8400 from 2009, GBP9600 from 2010 and so on - figures that are all divisible by 12...
