Prudential, Norwich Union and Skandia have gone live with Unipass, the first standard digital certificate allowing every financial adviser easy access to their company extranets.
The certificate, in effect a digital key, provides users with an online identity that replaces the need for multiple passwords and user names.
Created by Origo, the standards body of the UK's financial services industry the technology is free to IFAs and funded by providers.
A further 14 other companies are implementing the technology including Axa, Friends Provident, The Exchange and Assureweb.
