Technology standards body for the financial services industry, Origo, has announced the free availability of Unipass, the so-called digital key, to all financial advisers dealing in non-regulated products, such as mortgages and healthcare.
Unipass aims to boost the take-up of electronic trading among advisers by removing the need for multiple passwords for provider extranets. So far, Prudential, AXA, Norwich Union and Standard Life already accept Unipass certificates on their extranets and another 13 providers are due to implement Unipass this year. By early February 2003, 1,117 advisers had registered for Unipass.
