People on the move: Middleton moves up the ranks at Aon Consulting.

Robert Middleton, previously managing director of Aon Consulting's commercial division, has been promoted to managing director of the whole consulting business.

Middleton joined what was then Alexander Clay in 1996 to run the Glasgow office, but when Aon acquired the company he became regional director.

As managing director of the commercial division, Middleton was responsible for overall client management as well as new business development.

Middleton said he is looking forward to taking up the new role: "The changing demand in our markets offers Aon Consulting some exciting opportunities. I am looking forward to driving forward Aon's further development."
