Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedAnalysis of noise power ratio effects on satellite communication system performance.
Microwave Journal, June, 1997 by Chiavacci, Paul Adrian
NPR is an important parameter affecting performance of multicarrier communication systems. It is particularly important in satellite communication systems where power consumption must be minimized. Therefore, the power amplifiers should operate close to saturation to maximize efficiency. In a multicarrier system, carrier cross products establish an in-band interference level that must be considered when determining the system carrier-to-interference (C/I) ratio along with other interference sources. The importance of this interference source has been noted by other system designers and steps have been taken to incorporate it into their system designs.[1,2]
This far-field interference can be measured only on a phased-array antenna that has been populated fully with...
