Simon in new talks.

Investors Chronicle, December, 2004

After turning down a 45p a share offer in May, Simon Group is in talks over a possible 47.5p-a-share bid. In May, the company said the price and conditions were not satisfactory. Simon has not identified the new bidder, but it's likely to be a venture capital group.

Shareholders have been here before but, if this bid materialises, it values the company at a hefty 43 times full-year forecasts. And, if not, the company has streamlined its operations and is forecast to improve. Shareholders should hold on.
