Financial services software specialist Gresham Computing revealed that its partner, Cable & Wireless, had signed up several new data providers for their Real Time Nostro (RTN) joint venture at the SIBOS banking technology conference. Banks that have agreed to adopt the service, which helps to settle foreign-currency transactions in real time, include ABN Amro and Standard Chartered. They are added to a list of providers that includes Citigroup and Bank of America. This takes the total number agreeing to provide currency information to 17, with nine now offering live data, and suggests that fears over the long-term viability of RTN are unfounded.
