High-street retailer Dixons may have abandoned its fledgling voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) service, but the world's big telecoms companies, including BT, Verizon and BellSouth, are firmly committed to ushering in a new age of IP communications. That's good news for BATM, which sells software to the telcos and their biggest equipment manufacturers, including Alcatel and Nokia. The company is well-positioned to capitalise on operators' race to provide "quad-play" services - ie, voice, video, internet and mobile. Its new software release improves the security, quality and reliability of these complex networks.
