155p - Aim - Despite the continuing growth in demand for solar power, manufacturers are increasingly competing on price, and this is where Powerfilm has a distinct advantage. The Iowa-based company has developed a bespoke method of printing solar panels in thin-film form onto thin plastic substrates, making them thinner and more lightweight, versatile and flexible than rigid panels. And, at its recent interim results, Powerfilm boasted of gross margins of 28 per cent, which is ahead of rivals.
