"It's always the headline that's the problem, not the copy," said ITV executive chairman Michael Grade after discovering that his group's latest results announcement is headed: "Strengthening ITV1: the key to success." In fact, Mr Grade believes that ITV needs to strengthen on several fronts simultaneously, as he seeks "to restore the fortunes of the group and thus return the business to growth".
He has only been in his new job since 8 January, and he believes it is too early to conclude definitive plans for the business. Even so, his first presentation to the investment community as head of ITV was received positively.
