Energy Optimization News, November, 2003
On November 18th Kettle Foods officially unveiled their new 114-kW solar energy installation at their Salem, Ore., food manufacturing plant (3125 Kettle Court, SE, Salem, OR). The project is nearly three times the size of the next largest system and will produce about 3,000,000 kWh over its 25-year lifetime, enough power to produce the equivalent of six million bags of potato chips. About 1,500 tons of carbon dioxide will be eliminated from Oregon's air as a result of this system.
