RAL Commends EC's Amendment of ODS Regulations.(European Commission, ozone depleting substances)(Brief Article)

The RAL Quality Assurance Association for the Demanufacture of Refrigeration Equipment Containing Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) recently commended the European Commission's (EC) amendment of regulations concerning the safe removal and proper disposal of ozone depleting substances (ODS) contained in refrigerators and freezers.
According to RAL, the amended regulations now require European Union (EU) member states to provide annual reports regarding their CFC recovery and disposal activities.
"RAL [is] very pleased to see that there is now a requirement for year-on-year accountability within the regulation itself," said RAL. "RAL has welcomed this change and has been advocating that the new regulation takes into account continuous monitoring and reporting...
