Metalcasting documentary now showing on PBS, YouTube

Modern Casting, July, 2008

The documentary Spotlight On: Metalcasting is currently airing on PBS and is available for public viewing via YouTube. Sponsored by the American Foundry Society (AFS) and PBS, the documentary examines the metalcasting process and the positive ways metal castings affect society.

According to Trivue Entertainment, Watchung, N.J., who helped with the show's development, the short program could air up to 1,500 times on PBS and reach at least 3 million viewers nationwide per broadcast. Trivue estimates that approximately 40% of the airings will be during primetime.

"AFS is committed to informing the public on the many ways metal castings are produced and critical in everyday life," said Jerry Call, AFS executive vice president. "This documentary is a great avenue to deliver the message."
