RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK -- Scynexis has raised $29 million in venture capital. Among the drug company's investors were Alta Partners and Burrill & Co., both in San Francisco. Scynexis also announced that it will collaborate with New Jersey-based Merck, a large drug maker, to develop infection-fighting drugs.
