RF Micro Devices. (Regional Report: Triad).(invests $60 million in Jazz Semiconductor)(Brief Article)

GREENSBORO -- RF Micro Devices is pumping $60 million into a California silicon-wafer maker for a 10% to 20% stake and a seat on its board of directors. Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor makes radio-frequency and mixed-signal wafers. RF Micro, which makes circuits for wireless products, will get a guaranteed lower-cost supply of wafers for its products.
