NDC Infrared Engineering

Plastics Engineering, June, 2009

NDC Infrared Engineering (Irwindale, California USA; Maldon, UK) has announced that its TDi (Total Distributed Intelligence) system, introduced in 2006, is now offered to blown-film-extrusion processors. The company's new TDi Blown Film system, known as model 8110-BE allows processors to "optimize machine output and performance as well as product quality, particularly when costly barrier materials are involved." NDC adds that "the non-nuclear FG710S Infrared Film sensor, mounted after the collapsers, can measure the various critical components in barrier film structures such as nylon, EVOH, and sealant materials.

Up to four coextrusion components can be measured simultaneously. Also available for thickness measurement is NDC's unique GBS sensor, which can be mounted directly on a rotary scanner at the bubble, or in a stationary position in the collapsing frame." NDC will be at NPE Booth N67039. www.ndcinfrared.com.
