Frost & Sullivan

Rubber World, June, 1994

U.S. sales of electronics and electrical industry adhesives, sealants and coatings will grow from $1.1 billion in 1992 to $1.6 billion in 1999 at a 6% compound annual rate, projects a study from Frost & Sullivan. Polyimide will show the market's fastest growth, followed by silicone and epoxy, with these three rapidly-growing segments increasing their share of total market revenues from 50% in 1992 to 55% by 1999.

Ethylene copolymers will, by contrast, lag market growth, declining from 26% to 22% of total sales by 1999. Polyurethane and other adhesives, sealants and coatings will grow at rates similar to the overall market, accounting for a little less than a fourth of total revenues.
