Costco Wholesale, the fast-growing American wholesaler have reduced their operating costs by switching to a distribution system that allows them to carry chilled goods on ambient trailers. Costco have put into service 14 insulated pallet boxes from ChillXpress and is using them on an intensive distribution operation delivering goods to their 11 wholesale warehouses around the UK.

To keep their costs low, Costco operate a 'just-in-time' delivery policy to all their UK stores. Despite this policy the company rarely dispatch partly-loaded trailers. They have, however, found it difficult to achieve full loads of chilled foods. Costco believe the ChillXPress solution is ideal because temperature-sensitive goods can be carried on the same box van or curtain-sided...
