Pizza is Paramount for J&J Tranfield.(ACQUISITIONS)

The UK's largest sausage producer, J&J Tranfield Ltd, has taken a further step along the acquisition trail with the purchase of a majority shareholding in Paramount Foods for an undisclosed sum. Paramount enjoys a 25 percent share of the chilled pizza category and has a small specialty bread business with a combined turnover of 40 million [pounds sterling]. J&J Tranfield has acquired all the business's assets which include a pizza topping plant in Deeside and a bakery in Salford, Lancashire.
