NEC concentrates ceramic- related operations in Tokin

NEC Corp and its associated electronic parts maker, Tokin Corp, are reorganising their ceramic-related operations. Starting in April 1995, sales of ceramic condensers and other ceramic parts will be handled exclusively by Tokin, while ceramics production and development functions will be concentrated in NEC Hyogo. A total of 60% of the shares in NEC Hyogo will be transferred from NEC (currently the 100% shareholder) to Tokin, making NEC Hyogo a subsidiary of Tokin. NEC Hyogo will concentrate on tantalum capacitors, a mainstream product, making it possible to increase efficiency of operations.
