SEMX acquires Californian package manufacturer.

SEMX Corp has acquired Advanced Packaging Concepts (APC) Inc, a California-based manufacturer of multilayer ceramic packages for wireless communication applications.

Although specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed, SEMX confirmed that the assets and certain liabilities of APC were acquired for cash. The company also acquired associated intellectual property rights for approximately 95 000 shares of restricted SEMX common stock, valued at $1 million.

The acquisition was made through Polese Co, SEMX's subsidiary in San Diego, California, which it acquired last December. Polese Co manufactures heat dissipation materials and assemblies.
