Hexcel introduces prepregs, targets aerospace market.

Hexcel Composites has introduced a number of resin matrices, prepregs and core products.

The company says that the materials are designed primarily for use in composites for the aerospace sector; Hexcel is involved in several aerospace programmes, such as the Airbus A380 and A400M.

HexPly M21 is an epoxy matrix, designed to provide a prepreg with higher damage tolerance, particularly after high-energy impacts. This has been achieved without compromising the mechanical properties of the matrix. The product has high residual compression strength and good hot-wet properties up to 130[degrees]C.
