Laser projection systems for the design of composite parts used in the construction of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme and F/A-22 Raptor fighter aeroplanes have been supplied by Virtek Vision International Inc, Canada, to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, USA.

The contract is the largest Virtek has received from Lockheed to date, and is worth over $1.16 million (Can $1.7 million).

To meet strict affordability targets in the F-35 JSF programme, Lockheed Martin has established a virtual product development process prior to tool creation and physical prototyping.
