The UAE has one of the most dynamic economies in the Middle East. The leading emirate, Abu Dhabi, is by far the wealthiest of the seven union members in oil and gas as well as in money - with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) having become by far the biggest sovereign wealth fund (SWF) in the Middle East and its assets will soon reach almost US$900 bn. The other emirates, with Dubai in the forefront, have become centres for trade and tourism. Dubai as the main hub rivals Singapore and Hong Kong.
