Petrobras on Nov. 8 said it estimated the recoverable reserves of oil and gas at its ultra-deep Santos Basin Tupi field at between 5-8 bn of oil equivalent (BOE). Petrobras' shares in Sao Paulo jumped 6.12% to BRL74.55 at 1333 GMT on Nov. 8. In a press release, Petrobras said: "If recoverable oil and gas volumes for the pre-salt reservoirs are confirmed, they will significantly raise the quantity of existing oil in Brazilian basins, putting Brazil on par with countries with great oil reserves in the world".
