Abu Dhabi To Award $10 Bn Sour Gas Job.

The state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) has confirmed an award for the onshore Shah sour gas field will be made before end-2007 as IOCs vie for the $10 bn contract. The project covers long-term production of more than 1,000 MCF/d of sour gas from the field, with the sour gas likely to be used for injection purposes. The surface portion covers a gas gathering system to collect the well-stream fluids, a gas processing plant including treating and sulphur recovery facilities, and a sulphur management system. Development of substantial sour gas reserves is a key tenet of Abu Dhabi's policy to ensure there is enough gas supply to meet its growing power generation requirements.
