The Sun Automotive Group is a car dealership based in Scottsdale, AZ. Like many small companies, it strives to keep its health care costs to a minimum by providing fixed contributions to its employees' medical premiums. Under Sun's health care program, employees are expected to pay the balance of their plan premiums. They are also given the option of paying an added sum to allow them to take up family coverage through either a preferred-provider plan or a health maintenance organization scheme. As a result, Sun maintains a health-care cost per employee of just $1,450 while providing a fairly extensive range of benefits.
