About the Artist
Jeanne Clarke was born in Alpena, Michigan. She began her artistic training in Chicago, Illinois, where she studied simultaneously at the University of Chicago and at the Chicago Art Institute. She married at 19 and settled in Connecticut, where she raised three children. While there, she resumed her artistic training, taking private lessons and studying at the Silvermine Guild and at Yale University.
At the age of 50, Clarke moved to Utah and attended Brigham Young University. In five years, she earned both her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees. After graduating, Clarke began teaching drawing and painting at Brigham Young University.
