Lending system partnership. A joint development effort between IBM Corp. and $11 billion-assets Meridian Bancorp., Reading, Pa., was announced in early February. The two are developing software called Officer Workbench for commercial lending applications. The project has been in the planning stages for several months.

The system will integrate existing functions offered by IBM Business Partners. For example, an application from Micro/Resources, Inc. called Customer Relationship information System Program, will help bank lenders analyze profitability and loan pricing information.
