Puerto Rico will soon have its first and only all-inclusive resort: Paradisus Puerto Rico (also known as Sol Melia) in Rio Grande, scheduled to open on Dec. 15, reports Caribbean Business (Oct. 27, 2003):

The first phase of Paradisus Puerto Rico, which required an investment of nearly US$120 million, consists of 486 guestrooms in 30 two-story bungalows, a lagoon-style swimming pool, a full-service spa, a casino, three tennis courts, an air-conditioned amphitheater, six restaurants, four bars, and 29,000 square feet of meeting & banquet space. "The architectural look and feel of the resort was inspired by old Puerto Rico," said Alvaro Sans, the architect for the Paradisus brand;
