Libya to set up bank in region.(THE REGION)

Libya will set up a commercial bank in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) region, reports Caribbean Net News (June 8, 2009). The decision was taken after discussions St Vincent & the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves had with Libyan leader Muammar Al Gaddafi, in Tripoli, Libya's capital.
Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also visited Tripoli in May and was reportedly able to secure funding for several projects. OECS leaders were in St Vincent recently and had discussions with a delegation from Libya headed by Special Envoy Mokhtar Ghanas.
