A project to provide a reliable supply of water to San Antonio Village in the Cayo District, has been launched, reports Caribbean Net News (June 10, 2009). Funded by the government and the Caribbean Development Bank, it will end a ten-year hiatus during which over 3,000 residents have suffered without an adequate supply of water.
The community will contribute in-kind labor. An irrigation component to provide water for crops, will be funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
