Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) can be thought of as Total Quality Management customized for maintenance operations. The book 'Introduction to TPM,' by Seiichi Nakajima, introduced TPM to the US. TPM's 12 developmental steps are listed, and Coors Brewing's and Ambrosia Chocolate's implementation of preventive maintenance efforts are discussed.
