There is a battle for market share in the arena of computer software between Microsoft Corp. and Unix. They are battling over operating systems (OS). Windows NT is Microsoft's product which is going against leading Unix's OS. The key points being considered are robustness, openness and ease of use. Both Unix and Windows NT have the ability to resist crashes. Windows NT is catching up with Unix in terms of running software. Windows systems' graphic orientation makes Windows NT easy to use.

Unix is the dominant operating system today for high-level applications, but Windows NT is hot on its tail.
