Rockwell Automation has added support of Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services as a thin client solution for the industry-leading RSView32 Active Display System (ADS) version 6.30 HMI software package. The new Windows 2000 Terminal Services feature allows users to centralize computer operations and deploy thin clients remotely throughout the plant.
With Terminal Services, users can remotely execute applications from a Windows 2000-based server using a wide range of client devices over any type of network connection. In a Terminal Services environment, only keyboard commands, mouse movements and screen displays are transmitted over the network, while data processing and storage take place on the server.
