An estimated 50 million adults are on low-carbohydrate or weight-loss diets. There is growing concern, however, that meals high in fat but low in carbs may have longer-term negative health effects.

To solve the dilemma, Solon, Ohio-based Nestle Prepared Foods Co. rolled out 11 SKUs of Stouffer's Lean Cuisine containing between 12 and 25 grams of carbohydrates. At only 300 calories, each entree contains one or two full servings of vegetables and features lean proteins such as chicken, turkey and beefsteak and flavorful sauces.
