Keeping diesel fuel fresh - more important than you may think.

The improper storage of diesel fuel could have detrimental effects on vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. Diesel fuel that have been kept too long can cause filter and line clogging within the vehicle's engine and induce blisters and leaks in seals, hoses, pumps and injectors. It can also damage instrument probes and increase engine emissions. These phenomena are attributed to the growth of microbes in the fuel. A set of guidelines for preventing these problems is presented.

DIESEL fuel that is kept too long or improperly maintained can cause a host of problems for equipment and storage systems. Filters and lines can clog. Pumps, injectors, and tanks corrode and may even start to leak. Seals, hoses, and connections swell and blister for no apparent reason.
