Pennsylvania's Dept of Transportation (DOT) commissioned Nu-Metrics Inc to build a state-wide, advanced Road Traffic Weather Information Network (RTWIN). DOT awarded them a contract worth $1.7 million that covers 1998 and 1999 with the option for one-year extension and additional payment of $858,000. The installment of RTWIN in Pennsylvania is expected to provide better actual real-time traffic and site roadway weather information during the winter season.
