EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT URGES PROMOTION OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES

At its January 18-22 plenary session in Strasbourg the European Parliament adopted a Resolution on the promotion of renewable forms of energy. The Resolution looks at the political management of renewable forms of energy and stresses their importance from a number of angles. It also criticises the European Commission and Council of Ministers for the short-sighted approach and lack of commitment to promoting alternative sources of energy.

The Commission's administrative management in this domain comes under attack too and suggestions are made to improve it.
