Summary:

In an attempt to break the deadlock in the dispute between British staff at the Joint European Torus controlled thermo-nuclear fusion project and their employers, the UK Atomic Energy Authority, over whether UK staff should be given the same pay and conditions as colleagues on Euratom (European Atomic Energy Community) contracts, the European Parliament has approved two amendments from its Committee on Budgets blocking over a third of the JET budget for 1994 until a satisfactory solution is found.
