NO AGREEMENT ON SAVE AND ALTENER ENERGY PROGRAMME BUDGETS.

Meeting on November 11, The Conciliation Committee failed to reach an agreement on the financial framework for the two multiannual energy programmes SAVE II (energy efficiency) and ALTENER II (renewable sources of energy). The proposals had to go to conciliation after the EU's Council of Ministers said that it "has not been able to accept the amendments" made by the European Parliament to its common positions on the two programmes during its second reading on October 6.
