CONSUMERS : CONSUMER PROTECTION STRATEGY WELCOMED.

The European Commission's new consumer protection strategy for 2007-2013, which was presented on 13 March, has generally gone down well. The European Consumers' Organisation (BEUC) welcomed the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commissioner Meglena Kuneva's intention to integrate consumer policy with other policies. The organisation also welcomed the "concrete measures" that were proposed, such as consumer liaison officers that are to be appointed in a number of Commission directorates general.
