HEALTH : INDUSTRY URGED TO DO MORE TO COMBAT OBESITY.

The European Platform for Action on Diet, Physical Activity and Health, created by the European Commission, has been operating for two years. Bringing together industry, NGOs and member state representatives, its primary mission is to combat the progression of obesity in the EU. "At a given time, the problem requires a solution, whether legislative or otherwise," Robert Madelin, director-general of the Commission's DG Health and Consumer Protection, told agri-business professionals on 18 April.
