ENERGY COORDINATORS APPROVED.

The EP's Industry Committee (ITRE) approved, on 17 July, the four EU coordinators for special energy projects nominated by the European Commission. The four coordinators are Georg Wilhelm Adamowitsch, Jozias Van Aartsen, W adys aw Mielczarski and Mario Monti. Professor Mielczarski will be responsible for the Northern European Powerlink.
Adamowitsch, former German economics minister, will oversee an offshore wind project, whilst former Competition Commissioner Monti tackles inter-connections on the French-Spanish border. Former Dutch Foreign Minister Van Aartsen is in charge of the Nabucco gas pipeline project.
