At a debate on market prospects for solar energy, the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) has called for clarification of grid connection rules in the European Commission's upcoming proposal on renewables. The Commission should also opt for "effective ownership unbundling" of both transmission and distribution system operators in electricity liberalisation proposals so as to better ensure fair grid access conditions for renewable electricity producers, EPIA argues.
