DANGEROUS TOYS, AGAIN.

Following the accusations made on 14 February by the Belgian MEP Giovanna Corda (PES), according to which the toy manufacturer Mattel sent to Africa toys withdrawn from the European and American markets in the second half of 2007, the European Commission invited the press to make a bold move towards the toy giant.
Mattel has refuted the accusations and said that "all the products recalled were destroyed in collaboration with the national authorities," according to the daily newspaper La Libre Belgique. "The Commission has to play its part now," insisted the Belgian MEP. "It is up to Mattel to reply, they have sent several clarifications specifying that they would not export toys which have been destroyed or withdrawn from the European market," replied a...
